Hi Guys,

We issued the the release below today announcing the resolution to our dispute with Coke. Thanks you so much for all of your support. We have felt the love.

The most important thing is that we'll be releasing an EP soon produced by Ska legend Gaz Mayall. We're also now being managed by Peter Jenner who has worked with The Clash, Pink Floyd and TRex as well as Ian Dury and Billy Bragg.

Watch this space for release news.

YEAH

BC

Coca-Cola de Argentina and unsigned British ska band 7 Seconds of Love reach arrangement

Coca-Cola de Argentina and the unsigned London-based ska band 7 Seconds of Love today announce a joint agreement regarding similarities between a recent Coca-Cola light commercial and the video and soundtrack of one of the band's most popular online tracks, Ninja.

The band has a worldwide following, particularly via cult website Rathergood.com, which is authored by the band's lead singer, Joel Veitch, and receives 100,000 page impressions a day.

The agreement involves a payment to the band, which will be channelled towards both their ongoing development and to two charities which they are already actively involved in supporting and have personal commitments to.

The money will go towards:

- Recording and distribution of an EP, including the track Ninja

- Tommy's, the baby's charity

- SANDS, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society.

The band will now be managed by Peter Jenner of Sincere Management, who has 40 years experience managing the likes of Pink Floyd, T Rex, The Clash and Billy Bragg.

The Ninja EP, which will be released shortly, is produced by Ska legend Gaz Mayall.

In a statement, a Coca Cola spokesperson says: "The Coca-Cola Company has a long history of working with some of the best artists around the world. The creative talent of 7 Seconds of Love is quite evident and we wish them all the best in their musical endeavours."

Lead singer of 7 Seconds of Love Joel Veitch says: "It's hugely useful to get this settlement from Coca Cola to support our activities as a band - we've been in the studio recording our first EP, and we're looking forward to working with Sincere Management.

'It's also a wonderful feeling to be able to help these charities, both close to my heart, which make such an important contribution to saving babies' lives, and supporting families that suffer the grief of losing a baby."

Jane Brewin, Chief Executive of Tommy's, the baby charity says:

"I am both heartwarmed and incredibly thrilled with this very kind and generous donation to Tommy's from "7 Seconds of Love". Tommy's has worked closely with the band and their website, www.rathergood.com over
recent months and it's testament to their philanthropic and benevolent attitude that they've chosen us to benefit from their settlement with Coca Cola. I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks to them for thinkingof Tommy's.

"Sadly 1 in 4 families suffer a loss during pregnancy and as Tommy's receives limited government funding, we rely on good natured donations like this to change these figures for the better. Donations to us will
both fund our vital research into miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth - as well as provide much needed support and information to parents and parents-to-be."

This is pretty exciting. Though I'm going to try and avoid any track list announcements for a while, I want it to be a surprise. Though I am curious to find out how much you guys were given, and how much was donated to Tommys and SANDS.

Congratulations! Looking forward to the EP and the future!

The outcome was noble and very good for you guys. I look forward toi the ep, the camp/video and the unavoidable superstardom. I am proud to have been to that gig a year and a half ago, so much has happened.

You guys are to lauded for your donations to Tommy's and SANDS. Many would treat a settlement like this as a windfall, but you all remembered to help others in need. Makes me feel better about the world.

That's fantastic news! I've been dying to know what was happening but didn't want to seem rude by asking.

I can't think of two more deserving charities and I know that they and the families they support will appreciate every penny.

Good luck with the almost certain world domination that is to come. :D

I heard about this just late last night. It's great.

Out of curiosity, what does 7SoL have with involvement with SANDS? That question doesn't have to be answered, of course.

Fantastic. Brilliant. Wonderful.
I'm so, so, so chuffed to bits for everyone.
Fair play to Coke, as well.

It's on the BBC website:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6289933.stm

Congrats, this has been a good outcome to the situation.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll go and burst with delight at the news that you're going to have a proper record out!

Thanks everyone, we're obviously chuffed that it's all sorted out now. Sorry we couldn't really talk about it on the forum before now, I'm sure you all understand why. Just can't wait to get the EP out now - watch this space!

This was in the Metro this morning:

Oh, and if the guy from Santo Buenos Aires who first 'took inspiration from' Ninja is reading this - sorry dude. Guess you're not the only 7SoL fan in Argentina after all...!

Hallelujah! Me old dear told me told me about this and am about to watch the news. If I don't catch it, will someone upload the 'settlement' story?

Whatever you think of them or their product, Coca Cola really ought to be angry with the advertising agency who put them in this situation in the first place.

But whatever, Cheers! *drinks first Coke for ages, probably laced with something of a 'stronger' nature!*

Richard *hugs*
