Rachael (the one I shagged) is the one on the far left you commented on before. Justine (the one I'm crazy about) isn't in the pictures (will get photos up asap). Atmosphere between me and rachael is still a little cold, although I the worst of it's blown over.

then maybe this is a brief lesson in the physical and emotional involvements that happen when you sleep with someone on the one-off, and then expect nothing more from them, whilst they are left wondering what you wanted with them in the first place, apart from that shag of course ; )

to be honest sam, you seem like a plenty respectable young man, and i really hope this isn't gonna be the type of person you're going to turn in to. that, or that you may well start getting a reputation, and it certainly won't be a good one. you may be high fiving yourself between your male friends, but seriously, everyone else is looking down upon it.

I'm a little hurt you'd think this. First up, rachael made every single move that night and was way less drunk than I was. So if anyone took advantage it certainly wasn't me. This is certainly NOT the kind of guy I am or evr will be - this is my first and probably only ever one night stand , and it took a lot of alcohol to gwt me to that point. I mean, my girlfriend gave me a free pass to sleep with other people this weekend in dublin, and I immediately turned it down. Do you know how many guys would do that? Probably not many! Also, rachael and I had a long chat the next day and explicitly said it was just one-off sex. So please don't treat me like dirt because of this.

Sam, I certainly don't think of you badly, these things happen, especially where lots of alcohol is concerned. However, the blame should not be put onto either one of you, you are both adults, drunk or not.
If you did have the talk afterwards and agreed it was a one off, then you most certainly do not owe her anything, nevertheless, maybe you should talk to her face to face to clear the air. It may not be the nicest conversation you ever have, but at least you'll know you were man enough to face up to the consequences of drunken sex. On another note, your girlfriend gave you permission to sleep with someone else?!? I would certainly not say that to someone I was into, and if you're that crazy about her, maybe you need to make that clear to her too.

Well me and justine don't exactly have the most orthodocx of relationships, and she has had a pretty messed up background so those that know her would understand. But she knows how I feel and she feels the same, no matter how oddly it's expressed!

LL, what else did you get to see in Rome?

meh.

We did the Collosseum (obviously), the Palatine Hill and the Forum, plus walked all the way round the Palatine Hill from the Victor Emmanuelle building back to the Collosseum, past the Circus Maximus (where the Italian army was doing some show thing so it was all closed off). Then we went down to the Spanish Steps (ruined cos there was some other show on about the fall of the Berlin Wall with a massive Berlin Wall reconstruction across them) and then saw the Trevi Fountain and threw our coins in.
On the Monday, we did the Vatican, St Peter's Basilica is jaw-dropping! We went down into the Vatican Grottoes and then went round to the museums but only had time to do the Sistine Chapel (and the 1 and a half hour walk through amazingly decorated rooms and hallways to get to it) before we had to leave to get our flight home.
We actually did quite alot, but sooo need to go back and do some more.

I'm not looking down on him or the situation. It's a bunch of young adults + alcohol, it stands to reason some of them will get down to some boinking then think better of it in the morning. Everyone's done it, learned from it, and moved on. It's one of those things that makes life that little more colourful.
